New art artist
Saeed Ensafi was born in Uroumia, Iran in 1974
Ensafi studied Illustration and Graphic Design at Architecture & Art Faculty of Islamic Azad University in Tehran between 1998-2005, and also studied at documentary and experimental film center in Tehran (1996), where he moved in 1994.
His work of art is not derived from academic education or not even the great career he has followed, but it comes from the concepts which have been his concerns as an artist.
Narratives, humanity and social relations are the outstanding concepts of his works.
In his war collection he challenges the concept of war and the famous slogan "War, war… until victory!" (which was used notably during the long-lasting, Iran-Iraq war in 1980)
With small sized, three dimensional drawings, the artist is arraying the ugly face of war and the sweet ideological beliefs about victory. According to his statement: "I want to challenge the reason which makes people to kill each other" he was the first to raise this concept about war.
In Ensafi's drawings which do not accept a static definition we are faced with a magical world from slight to total. Using the tension of arranging separate components next to each other in order to achieve a total unit is his attitude about the nature of drawing.
